Plateful

About The
Project

‘Plateful’ is an immersive experience educating Kiwi’s about the cultural communities within Aotearoa and how they celebrate with food. The experience is conveyed through motion design of animated food characters representing major cultures you would find in Aotearoa. This is then showcased in a physical exhibition creating an atmosphere reflecting the design. Creating harmony between the digital and physical. Winner of the Dunedin Multi-Cultural Youth Council's Race Relations Week Exhibition 2023.

Getting a mouthful

I went out into the community to learn about different cultures and their food. I learnt about their recipes, celebrations, traditions and atmosphere within each culture and recorder it. Compiling the audio to create a narrative in a documentation-like style with the characters of my interviewees favorite food as representative of each culture.
